The MMF is supporting the first edition of the Malta National Transport Awards being organised by the Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects & Transport to celebrate the tireless efforts of those that have significantly contributed to the transport sector. She has also worked on various cost benefit assessments on maritime infrastructure including the upgrading of the breakwater and extensions of quays in the Grand Harbour. She has worked on various maritime related projects including, but not limited to the economic and financial feasibility of onshore power supply at the Grand Harbour and Malta Freeport Terminal. In the course of her research and consultancy work, Dr Vella has been involved in the development of the integrated Maritime Policy for Malta and in an assessment of the sectoral contribution of the maritime sector in Malta. She is currently the National Hub for Malta on the WestMED initiative bringing stakeholders together for the development of maritime related projects. Stephanie Vella, who in 2022, as representative of the Westmed National Hub for Malta, co-organised a national conference with the Forum entitled ”Blue Skills in Malta”.ĭr Vella obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Economics and further graduated with a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Malta in 2002.
